Natalie Lambert: I Love You Very Much But...

Natalie Lambert: I Love You Very Much But...

This exhibition of new work features drawings and paintings of ambiguous skin-like forms that portray human behavior guided by negative human instincts. Lambert utilizes the unique characteristics of drawing and painting media to illustrate the gradual formation of these beings and the actions they impose on each other.

Presented in partial fulfillment for the Master of Fine Arts in Art degree at the University of Dallas, 2021.

About the Artist

Natalie Lambert

I am intrigued where the known meets the unknown. These absurd human skin forms play in and out of visual coherence and they are guided by my curiosity of the human perception of form and color. The personification of skin, through pose, gesture and title of works, places the forms in a social context. The creation of the series is my process in coping with my current perception of humanity, my complicity in such a system and the difficulty in maintaining love despite dark forces of human behavior.

Lambert has exhibited work at 500X, Craighead Green and NorthPark Center in Dallas and at Fort Worth Community Art Center. She obtained a BFA and an MA from the University of North Texas and is currently a MFA candidate at the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas.
